Šargan 8 & Kusturica's towns

If you don’t believe that time travel is possible, think again. You will have a unique opportunity to experience steam train ride that goes through inaccessible terrain in a narrow eight-shaped railway track. The route is from the base of Tara mountain to a village called Šargan. Take a ride on the “Ćira”, a one-of-a-kind tourist museum railway.

Drvengrad is our next stop where you will see enchanting ethno village made by Emir Kusturica, famous film director. In this gorgeous oasis just beside Mokra Gora, you can see authentic log cabins and enjoy traditional Serbian cuisine with a view from a hilltop "Mećavnik"

Višegrad with famous centuries old stone bridge is a story for itself. It stands over Drina river like a relic of time with stories documented in a novel “The Bridge on the Drina” written by our Nobel prize winner Ivo Andrić. On the banks of Drina river there is Andrićgrad also called Kamengrad or stone town. Place of cultural institutions combined with breathtaking view towards Drina River and stone bridge; restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. Višegrad is amazing mix of culture, tradition, different religions and people, it offers a glimpse into the turbulent past that is still influencing us today.

Word of advice: You must have a passport with you as we cross the border between Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
