Detailed and thought provoking tour.

This is why I love city tours by local people! I did the 20th Century Belgrade walking tour on Wednesday 2 October with Milan. Milan was extremely knowledgeable about the subject, passionate about history and provided a detailed and thought provoking talk from a local's perspective. I have also watched the YouTube film that he recommended for a deep dive of the subject. We were taken round many sights including Republic Square, St. Sava's temple, Moscow Hotel and the Tesla building. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Well done Milan.

Too much talking not enough viewing

We had only 48 hrs in Belgrade so we decided we would book a walking tour on our first afternoon so we could get a feel for the city before we explored ourselves the following day. There weren’t many companies that offered an afternoon tour so we decided to book with Belgrade Walking tours after seeing they offered this and had good reviews. We met Milan at the designated point by the statue in Republic Square along with about another 15 people. He explained about how the tour would work, gave a suggestion for a tip if we had enjoyed the free tour and an introduction to the city. Unfortunately the tour wasn’t really what we were expecting and we struggled with the long and detailed commentary on specific parts of the city. I agree it can be a challenge to explain the history, geography, politics and religion of a country in such a short period of time so maybe we just chose the wrong tour - we had hoped to see more and have a shorter commentary. If you are happy with the level of detail then this is the tour for you but it wasn’t for us.

Highly recommended!

*20th century walking tour* Milan was really great in illustrating every main aspect of the recent, controversial serbian and balkanic history. This tour is highly recommended! We liked it so much that we joined also the afternoon *Downtown walking tour* Thanks again Milan for your clear and interesting explanations! The city is really great and having a local guide is a big plus. Both tours were about three hours walking, very manageable. Tip based Just join them!

Avoid!

The guide was great, Stefan did a good enough job but our group was over 60 people!!!! It’s absolutely crazy that they would carry out a tour with that many people, it puts people in danger and bothers locals to be stopping in the middle of the street with a crowd that big. All in all, avoid!
