From the Petrovaradin Fortress, which is waiting for us, proudly rising on the edge of the Danube river bank, you will have an unforgettable view of the entire Novi Sad City. A few centuries ago the fortress was the border between east and west, between two great empires, and still, its underground tunnels keep many secrets …Today one of the biggest music festivals in Europe “Exit” takes place among its strong walls.

Walking through the oldest streets of Novi Sad, admiring magnificent baroque, classical, neo-gothic buildings, and colorful facades, you will fall in love with its grace atmosphere and its inhabitants who, even in this era of fast communications, have preserved the tranquility and natural kindness. Imagine how they persuaded Empress Maria Theresa to sell them a city for 80000 Hungarian forints! Since then it has been the cultural center of the Serbians for a long time, still called ”Serbian Athens”.

As a quiet guardian of the city and whole of this region, in a distant prehistory elevated as an island from the huge Panonian Sea, lies Fruska Gora Mountain, which is today the oldest national park in Serbia. While enjoying the landscapes of its beautiful slopes, we will visit New Hopovo, one of the most important Orthodox monasteries on the mountain. Deeper in the forest we’ll find a monument dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Second World War called symbolically – The Freedom.

Following the traces of the greatest migration of the Serbian people from the end of the 17th century, we’ll arrive in Sremski Karlovci. Walking around the oldest high school in Serbia, the famous fountain “4 Lions”, and the Orthodox cathedral, we’ll solve the riddle: What is the other Sun, which the people of this irresistible small town claim to have?

At the end of this exciting adventure, we are going to the local wine cellar where, besides various high-quality wines, you will have a unique opportunity to try Bermet, a dessert, spicy wine, made only in this region. The red one was a favorite drink of Empress Maria Theresa and the legend says it was sold on Titanic as well!
